Vehive Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 7, 2026

Introduction

Vehiveis operated by TechQuadrant ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. It applies to the Vehive mobile app, website, and any related services.

By creating an account or using Vehive, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information— email address, phone number, username, and profile photo.
  • Vehicle information— Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) you enter, plus any vehicle photos and modification descriptions you add.
  • User-generated content— photos, text, and other materials you upload or post through the platform.
  • Communications— messages you send to our support team.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information— device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
  • Usage data— features you use, pages you view, and actions you take within the app.
  • Log data— IP address, access times, and crash reports.

Information from third parties:

  • Vehicle data from NHTSA— when you enter a VIN, we retrieve publicly available vehicle specifications (year, make, model, engine, body type) from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) database.

How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain Vehive, including your garage, vehicle profiles, and social features.
  • Display your content to other users according to your privacy settings.
  • Send notifications you opt into (new followers, activity on your garage, etc.).
  • Decode vehicle specifications from VINs so you don't have to enter them manually.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service, including reviewing reported content and detecting abuse.
  • Improve the platform through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell your data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers— we use trusted third-party providers for infrastructure (hosting, storage, email delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations and may not use your data for their own purposes.
  • Other users— content you make public (your username, profile photo, public garage, and public vehicle profiles) is visible to other Vehive users and may appear in shared links. You control visibility through your privacy settings.
  • Legal requirements— we may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vehive, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers— if TechQuadrant is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

Vehive integrates with the following third-party services:

  • NHTSA Vehicle API— we send VINs to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public API to decode vehicle specifications. NHTSA does not receive any of your personal information beyond the VIN itself. NHTSA's data practices are governed by their own policies.
  • Firebase (Google)— we may use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting. These services may collect device identifiers and crash data. Google's privacy policy governs their use of this data.

We carefully evaluate any third-party service before integrating it and limit the data shared to what is strictly necessary for the service to function.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Specifically:

  • Account data— retained while your account exists. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems within 30 days.
  • Photos and media— deleted when you remove them individually or when your account is deleted. Deleted media is permanently removed from our storage systems.
  • Vehicle data— removed when you remove a vehicle from your garage or delete your account.
  • Backups— data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days after deletion, after which it is permanently purged.
  • Legal holds— we may retain data longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data.
  • Export — receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to certain types of processing.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data in certain cases.
  • Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

You can exercise most of these rights directly through the app (account settings, privacy controls, data export). For anything else, email us at privacy@techquadrant.com. We will respond within 30 days.

For Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the following additional information applies:

Data controller: TechQuadrant is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

Lawful basis for processing: We process your data on the following legal grounds:

  • Contract — processing necessary to provide you the service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests — improving our service, preventing abuse, and ensuring security, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent — where you have given explicit consent (e.g., push notifications).
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to process data by law.

Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we are processing your data unlawfully. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.

For California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you additional rights:

Categories of personal information collected: identifiers (name, email, phone, username), internet activity (usage data, log data), visual information (photos), and vehicle-related information (VINs, vehicle details).

We do not sell your personal information. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months and have no plans to do so.

Your rights under CCPA: You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, request deletion of your information, opt out of the sale of your information (though we do not sell it), and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise your rights, email privacy@techquadrant.com or use the in-app account settings. We will verify your identity before processing requests.

Children's Privacy

Vehive is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@techquadrant.com.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses minimal cookies that are necessary for the site to function properly (session management, security). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

The mobile app does not use cookies. It uses secure, short-lived authentication tokens stored on your device.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Our measures include:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS.
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text.
  • Authentication uses short-lived JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) that are refreshed automatically.
  • Media storage uses access-controlled, encrypted storage.
  • We follow secure development practices and regularly review our systems for vulnerabilities.

No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to support@techquadrant.com. We appreciate responsible disclosure.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than the one in which you reside. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Continued use of Vehive after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the service and delete your account.
